We don't recommend it. Chemical drain cleaners eat at older pipes — especially the galvanized steel and cast iron lines common in older North Louisiana homes. If the clog is more than a few feet down, the chemicals sit above it corroding the pipe, and the blockage doesn't move. Boiling water with a little dish soap clears minor kitchen grease. Anything more serious needs a mechanical cable.
